Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 43

March 11, 2021

We have had some nice days with temperatures most days in the sixties and low seventies but the nights have been cool to cold, dropping into the twenties. The sun has been really warm most of the time and this allows children to be outside and play with pets and toys instead of caged in the house. The buttercups have just been beautiful around the county as you go along and see them. I was afraid after the snow and ice fell on them they might not be pretty, but mine are really pretty. This coming weekend will be time change. I thought they were going to stop doing that but guess that is what I get for doing my own thinking. The first day of spring will arrive next week and hopefully the weather will live up to the name spring.

Please continue to pray for our nation that it will heal from this virus that has so long disrupted our lives in many ways including death to some of our loved ones, and for peace in our world.

Happy birthday to Jasmine Cotham Chapin the 12th, Aleah Carroll the 13th, Rylee Beasley the 14th, Hillary Anthony the 16th, Sue Green the 18th and Darrell Runions and Dennis King the 19th. Wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.

Happy anniversary to G.Y. and Lois Bennett the 19th. We wish for them many more years to celebrate life.

We express sympathy to the family of Joyce Faye Slaydon Wilson, Lucinda “Cindy” Gail Carroll Kilpatrick, Marie McBride, Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Barber, Daniel “Pete” Scott Litton and Earl Stutts. Prayers for these families and any other families that have lost loved ones.

I pray that you and your family will have good days that are filled with happiness and good health for this is a great blessing from the Lord. Remember those around you who do not share this good fortune and visit if possible, and if not, send cards or a phone call will brighten their day.

Here is a saying that is true today and always, “The world is full of willing people; some willing to work, and the rest willing to let them.” Frost.

With the coming of spring I hope we all can be more sociable and spend time with those we love and share dinners and fellowship which for the most part has become a thing of the past.
