One Day At A Time

Well it is a quiet and peaceful morning here in our little valley. The sun is shining down and feels so warm. The cats have had their breakfast and are laying in the warm sunshine. The birds are all singing and I even saw a butterfly. I think everyone and everything is ready for spring. Yesterday morning I swept my porches and got all my washing done and I even hung clothes out on the line. After we had lunch and got the dishes washed and put away, I quilted most of the afternoon. Life here is good. There is still trouble all around - when you listen to the news, everything you hear is very depressing. All I can do is pray.

I thank God for our little town and our good people. A few days ago I had to go out here to our hospital, nothing serious, but was so thankful for our local doctors and staff of nurses who are there for us - they really do care about us. Afterwards, I had to go do some errands and I saw our local police cars and sheriff cars and that made me think - they are taking care of you, watching out for our safety. And then i thought about how the people in our town are friendly, caring and helpful. Everywhere I went I saw friends. Now I know we are not perfect and there are a lot of negative and some bad things everywhere, but the good outweighs the bad. When it comes down to it, we are here for each other and God is in the midst.

Well back to a peaceful morning, a good cup of coffee, the cats sleeping in the sunshine and the birds singing. Our neighbor came down to the creek and loaded up two big bales of his hay onto the old tractor and hauled them to his cows. They heard him and they went to meet him. In his garden he has garden onions that are almost big enough to eat. The heavy rain water washed out his bridge and some of his driveway, but it probably won’t be long until he will be down there putting everything back right. A farmer’s work is never done.

I’m not going to worry about tomorrow. I will enjoy one day at a time. God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless,
