Penguin Random House and the American Library Association (ALA) have selected Lewis County Public Library and Archives as one of four runners-up in the 2021 ALA Penguin Random House Award for Innovation. The award recognizes U.S. libraries and librarians who create lasting innovative community service programs that successfully inspire and connect with new readers.

The American Library Association selected Lewis County Library and Archives for its ability to address hardships faced by the local community with innovative, successful programming and through effective partnerships with a variety of community groups. Lewis County Public Library and Archives consistently demonstrates their commitment to community improvement with quality programs and services comparative to library systems in major cities.

As a runner-up, Lewis County Public Library and Archives will receive $1,000 worth of Penguin Random House titles for innovative, successful programming and partnerships that support learning, reading programs, and books.
