August 28, 1958 ~ April 7, 2021 (age 62)

Lorain Ann "Rainy" Wix passed away April 7, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center at the age of 62. Rainy (as she was affectionately called) was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 28,1958 to Kenneth F. and Geraldine Hiles Hart.

Many people loved Rainy. She believed in an open-door policy where all were welcome, and she would greet you with a smile and a cup of coffee. All the children she had come to know, and love, called her Aunt Rainy and all those children were excited to come and visit with their "Aunt Rainy".

She was a little woman with a big heart. Rainy was raising her late daughter's three children, Bryson, Corbin, and Kelsey. She also had a hand in raising a few other children including helping her brother with his children, Breanna and Tyler, who lovingly called her mom. She was the center of her family, the keystone that held them together.

You would always be greeted with her infectious smile at a local quick mart where she worked as cashier and cook. She held many customer service positions until taking over custody of her grandchildren. She enjoyed painting in her downtime. She loved to place a fresh coat on an old surface and leave it better than she found it.

Rainy was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sabrina Wix; a sister, Patricia Barton; nephews, Joseph Barton and Freddie Rogers; and a niece, Jeana Rogers.

Rainy is survived by a son, Jay (Rhonda) Wix; sister, Connie (Gene) Rogers; brother Kenny (Mary) Hart; grandchildren, Bryson Wix, Corbin Wix, Kelsey Wix, and Jason Wix. She is also survived by her nieces Deina Rogers and Breanna (Josiah) Barclay; a nephew, Tyler (Haley) Hart; as well as nine great-nieces and nephews; and eight great grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday April 17, 2021 from 1:00 until time of service at 2:00 pm. Joshua Adair will officiate the service.

Rainy loved her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been arranged at Peoples Bank for the continued care of her grandchildren. The grandchildren will reside in the home of her son, Jay, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wix.
