One Day At A Time
April 15, 2021
Well it is a beautiful spring morning here in our little valley, the sunshine is warm, and there is a gentle little breeze blowing and a beautiful blue sky. The cats have all ate their breakfast and are now running and playing. The birds seem very happy, they are all singing their little songs. I went out and sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch and I enjoyed the warm sunshine and my cup of coffee. God is good.
A lot of people are putting their gardens out. Everyone is hoping for a better year. There is still a lot of talk about the covid, and there’s still more new cases every week. But maybe it will go away soon. I think the people are really wanting to stop having to wear a mask and get back to some kind of normal. We still use caution about where we go and we still wear our mask. I made me two new ones with pretty spring colors.
Well I cleaned the old wood heating stove and put a nice cloth and a basket of flowers on it. It won’t be long until cold weather again, as fast as the days go by. Is it just me, or is time flying by? The old apple tree in the yard is loaded with tiny apples. Last year with the late freeze was the first time in over twenty years it didn’t have apples. But last year was a very unusual year. But looking back I did see some good, God knows what he is doing. I think more families had time to spend together and got to know more about each other and enjoy some family time.
Well, today I will hang clothes out on the line. I love to see them blowing in the wind and they get that good clean springtime smell. I love the wintertime but being able to hang clothes out on the line is one the things I look forward to in spring. I just finished a quilt that I was working on, but today I’m going to start another one. I keep a journal that I write in every day, I’ve got a stack of them now. I have also got a journal that I write a letter to Jesus in every day. I’m just an old woman but I sure enjoy life. God is good.
All the hay bales down by the creek are gone but I can hear the old John Deere tractor working off in the distance. It won’t be long until the neighbor starts cutting hay and stacking the bales back down by the creek. Life is good, we are blessed, and if we stop and look around us, we can all see just how blessed we are. Well I’m not going to worry about tomorrow, I’m just going to enjoy one day at a time. God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God bless.
