April 22, 2021

The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers softball team faced the CreekWood Lady RedHawks for a District 11AA tilt on Tuesday, April 13th at LCHS.

Emma Tinnon took the mound for the Lady Panthers to start the game and, after issuing a leadoff walk and a sacrifice bunt to move the runner, CreekWood scored the first run of the game on an RBI single to left and led 1-0 after a half inning. Tinnon would draw a one out walk and steal second, but was left in scoring position as the inning ended. The Lady RedHawks got back-to-back singles in the second but the Lady Panther defense kept them off the board and trailed by one but the Lady Panthers would go down in order in the home half. The Lady RedHawks would again get a baserunner with one out in the third with a single and follow that with a run-scoring triple and a sacrifice fly to plate 2 and take a 3-0 lead that held in the bottom of the third as the Lady Panthers went down in order. The first eight Lady RedHawks to bat in the fourth would reach base and the visitors would score 10 runs on 8 hits and an error to blow the lead up to 13-0. Tinnon picked up a leadoff single and Piper Belvin would walk to start the home fourth and push a run across as Nylah Halbrooks added a two-out single and Lewis County trailed by 12. CreekWood would get a two-out walk and a double ahead of an error by the second baseman to pick up 2 more in the fifth. Trinley Greene drew a one-out walk in what would be the Lady Panthers final at-bat of the game, and Bria WIllcutt would add a single to right, but the Lady Panthers would fail to push a run across and drop the District 11AA matchup 15-1.

Emma Tinnon had a hit and a run, Bria Willcutt a single, and Nylah Halbrooks a single in the loss.
