LCHS Senior Play Saturday Night
April 29, 2021
The Lewis County High School senior class play will be held Saturday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in the Lewis County Middle School Auditorium.
In "Virgil and the City Slickers," the Sludges are simple country people who enjoy the rural trappings of gardens and green space. Jennifer and Trish, two highbrow city slickers whose car broke down, are in desperate need of a telephone (since their cell phones won't receive a signal "in the boonies"). The city girls, who prefer trendy shopping districts and running water, walk into the middle of several family predicaments including a lovers' spat, a bad hair day, a miracle tomato-growing tonic, a cow-impersonating husband and an oversized baby who disappears.
As the girls hang around waiting for a ride, the country bumpkins warm up to the "city folks" who try to help the "backward" family with their problems since Jennifer is studying to be a marriage therapist. But that's easier said than done. And when Jennifer's fiance finally shows up to take her home, things go from bad to worse and both country and city folk, as well as the audience, learn some valuable lessons by the time the final curtain falls.
Cast members are Emma Hinson, Trent Burns, Tyler Pope, Jayden Hinson, Reagan Webb, Emma McCoy, Alex Fall, Braden Powers, Lexi Spears, Laura Stewart, Morgan Bailey, Jesse Bobo, Emily Dye, Brooklyn Carroll, Allison Parton, Tyler Verde, Kasi Castro and Karli Bennett.
