On the morning of Friday, April 23, 2021, James Richard "Jimmy" Hurt, age 89, gained his heavenly wings.

He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Sue (Harder) Hurt; daughter, Kellie (Hurt) Spitzer; beloved twin grandsons, Christopher Michael and Hadley James Spitzer; sister-in-law, Imodean "Imy" Clay; and niece, Kimberly Clay. Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, James Christopher Hurt; father, Dr. I.G. Hurt, Jr.; mother, Rachel Black Hurt; and twin brother, Bobby E. Hurt.
