Bass tournament at Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve

 

Miles Staggs, left, and Matt Carroll finished first out of 78 anglers at Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve's first bass tournament of the year on April 10. Together they caught four fish, with a total weight of 12.2 pounds.

Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve held their first bass tournament of the year at Chief Creek Lake on April 10. There were a total of 42 boats, 78 anglers and 46 fish caught totaling 52 pounds.

Anglers in the top 25 from Lewis County were: Matt Carroll and Miles Staggs, 1st, catching four fish weighing 12.2 pounds; Steven Lee and Chris Adkins, 3rd, catching three fish weighing 3.58 pounds; Danny and Kane Dillon, 13th, catching two fish weighing 1.50 pounds; Jason and Logan Graves, 20th, catching one fish weighing .96 pound; Hammer Clark, of Bedford, and Mutt Leigh, 23rd, catching one fish weighing .88 pound; and John and Chad Spears finished 24th, catching one fish weighing .84 pound.
