Gardens of Columbia

The President James K. Polk Home & Museum is hosting the Gardens of Columbia on June 4-5, 2021. Gardens of Columbia will be a weekend celebration of lectures, demonstrations, and tours of some Columbia’s most beautiful landscapes, with a garden party reception on the grounds of the Polk Home Friday evening, June 4th.

“We are excited to share the beauty Columbia has to offer and to welcome guests to our local gardens,” said Beth Sands, chair of the event.

The event will showcase twelve exceptional public and private gardens in historic Columbia, Tennessee. Along with the self-guided garden tours, guests can attend presentations throughout the weekend on floral arranging, beekeeping, history, cooking from the garden, and more.

Guests may choose between a standard and premium ticket, with the latter including exclusive access to the Garden Party Reception Friday evening. Sheree Rose Kelley, cookbook author and CEO of Belle Meade Winery, will be a featured guest Friday and Saturday. Kelley will sign copies of her newest book, Servin’ Up Summer, and offer appetizers from her collection of recipes on Friday evening.

“We’re honored by the local homeowners and guest experts who have shared their time and talents with us this year,” said Interim Executive Director Candice Candeto. “This year’s variety of gardens and demonstrations has something for everyone.”

All proceeds from the tour will benefit the President James K. Polk Home & Museum. Garden tours will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day with a full schedule and tickets are available online at jameskpolk.com.
