County receives grant to build Agriculture Pavillion

 

The Lewis County UT Agricultural Extension office recently announced that Lewis County has been awarded a $75,000 fully-funded State Grant to build an Agriculture Pavillion inside Memorial Park

County Mayor stated, "Congratulations to our UT Ag Extension Agent, Savannah Gambel, who developed the plans for the project and wrote the winning grant application."

Miss Gambel said the facility will be an open pole barn structure that measures 60'x70'x14', have electricity and water, as well as a livestock wash rack and panels, and will be located behind the Boy Scouts Building near the front of the Park.

Shelly Ray, Ag Extension Agent/County Director, stated that the project is expected to be completed by the end of this Summer, and that the pavillion can be used by the public for a variety of events, including Livestock Shows, 4-H Youth Activities, Adult Agricultural Events, a Farmers Market, Concerts, Birthday Parties and Community Fundraisers.
