December 14, 1938 ~ May 15, 2021

On the morning of May 15, 2021, Elise Goforth James went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 82. She was born in Lewis County on December 14, 1938 to the late Clifford and Myrtle Garrett Goforth. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Glen James.

Graveside service was held Tuesday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Cemetery with Josh White officiating. Adair Funeral and Cremation Services assisted the family with arrangements.

Elise enjoyed being outside tending to her garden or hitting the road to find unique treasures at yard sales and flea markets. On quieter days she would relax at home behind her sewing machine creating beautiful pieces for her family. She loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family and considered herself a "crumpet specialist".

Ms. James is survived by her children, William (Glenda) James, Douglas James, and Dale (Julie) James; grandchildren, Chris (Bobbie) James, Tammy (Nick) Kohl, and Ellie James; great-grandchildren, Sierra James, Destiny Bunch, Faith James, Nicholas Kohl, Savannah James, Brett Kohl, Harley Bunch, and Saylor James.
