Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve hosts second Bass Tournament of the year

 

Matt Carroll, left, and Miles Staggs finished first out of 85 anglers at Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve's second bass tournament of the year on May 8, 2021. Together they caught five fish, with a total weight of 13.76 pounds. The Big Bass of the Day was among those five fish with a weight of 5.42 pounds.

Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve held their second bass tournament of the year at Chief Creek Lake on May 8, 2021. There were a total of 46 boats, 85 anglers and 53 fish caught totaling 74.6 pounds.

Anglers in the top 30 from Lewis County were: Matt Carroll and Miles Staggs, 1st, catching five fish weighing 13.76 pounds; Chris Coop and Remington Miller, 23rd, catching one fish weighing .76 pounds; Jerry Ashmore and Garry Bennett, 24th, catching one fish weighing .70 pounds; and Ricky Spears and Jeff Brackeen, 26th, catching one fish weighing .60 pounds.
