Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 the Lewis County Sheriff's Department received information from a concerned citizen that an individual from out of state was in Lewis County and was in possession of a stolen vehicle from out of state.

Deputies began investigating this incident, and located a stolen 2007 Honda Accord in the campgrounds of Meriwether Lewis Park. A decision was made to not confront immediately in the campground due to a large amount of people in the campgrounds. Contact was made with National Park Service Rangers, and the only exit to the campground was surveilled.

The stolen vehicle was observed leaving the campgrounds where a felony traffic stop was conducted at Highway 20 and Metalford Road. Three people were detained.

An investigation was conducted which evidence obtained investigators charged Ryan Lee Goodman, 22, with felony theft of property for knowingly being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Goodman is currently in the Lewis County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
