Update from Raylee Baker

June Dairy Month Chairperson

I have been given the opportunity to be the 2021 June Dairy Month Chairperson for Lewis County. I hope you are as excited as I am for Dairy Month!

Some of you came and participated in the Story Walk on Friday, June 4, hosted by the Public Library. Some stopped by and learned about dairy at the UT Extension booth and even got a frozen dairy treat at the end.

Dairy is in many different food products, such as: ice cream, cheese, yogurt, and butter. Can you think of more? Dairy is in fact a very important part of our lives, from strengthening bones, to providing nutrients our bodies need including calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and protein.

June is Dairy Month, so take time to appreciate all the hard work put in so that you can have that glass of milk!
