Helen Wick

Helen Ann Wick (Richter), formerly of Hohenwald, passed away, Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the age of 86 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT, surrounded by her children.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who had a passion for all things creative.

Born in Newark, NJ, Helen graduated from Rahway High School in 1953 and was accepted to Julliard but sadly did not get to attend. Her family was her pride and joy and she raised four beautiful children and basked in the love of her many grandchildren and extended family. Helen loved the theatre and helped build the Alpine Players in Hohenwald. She was an active part of the Strand Theatre including directing "Arsenic and Old Lace," and never lost the love of the stage. Helen loved nothing more than a good movie and to be surrounded by her constant canine sidekicks, Bailey, Duke, and Annabelle.

She is survived by son Jack Jeffrey (Joyce) Hall of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Hohenwald; daughters, Meri Louise (Marcus) Wick of Westbrook, CT and Karen Elizabeth Chappell (Wick) of Norwalk, CT, formerly of Hohenwald; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Hall of Trenton, NJ, Douglas (Meagan) Hall of Belmont, MA, Melissa Ortiz (Hall) of Hohenwald, Jack Hall of New Port Richey, FL, Catherine Hall of New Port Richey, FL, Christina Hall of New Port Richey, FL, Jordon Hensley of Norwalk, CT, formerly of Hohenwald, Shelby Hall of New Port Richey, FL, Haley (Cody) Mitchell and Holly (Jacob) Adkins, of Hohenwald, and Stephen Hall of New Port Richey, FL; fifteen great-grandchildren, including Anthony and Miguel (Mikey) Ortiz, Finnley Mitchell, and Magnolia Adkins, all of Hohenwald; two great-great grandchildren; four nephews, Robert Richter of Hardeeville, SC, Ted (Mallory) Richter of Plainfield, CT, David (Karen) Richter of Brick, NJ, and Mark Richter of Brick, NJ; and niece Megan Kosior (Richter) of Latham, NY, as well as two great nephews and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Hedding and Mary Leech (Hancock) of Hope, NJ; parents, Paul and Ruth Richter (Leech) of Newark, NJ; brothers, Paul Hedding Richter of Northampton, CT and Donald Hancock Richter, formerly of Hohenwald, of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Steven Lance Hall of New Port Richey, FL; granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Hall of New Port Richey, FL; niece, Diana Richter of Brick, NJ; and nephew Michael Richter of Brick, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405 or Curtain Call, Inc., 1349 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT, 06905. A memorial service in Hohenwald will be announced at a later date.
