Driver flown by air ambulance after crash

On Thursday, June 17, 2021 a vehicle was traveling south on Highway 48 South in Hickman County, when the driver failed to negotiate a right curve, crossed the center line and exited the left roadway. The vehicle then struck a utility guideline pole, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The accident scene stretched nearly 100 yards. Lewis County Fire and Rescue assisted Hickman County Rescue in extricating the driver out of the vehicle.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol investigating officer Trooper Alex Carrick, the driver was then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville w...
