We Treasure Your Friendship, AHC Lewis County!

Mable Anne Heath and her entourage went to AHC Lewis County for their weekly visit on Monday morning.

This week, two year old Mable Anne dressed up as a pirate to show the residents that she treasured their friendship.

She was feeling especially social as she leaned up against windows to give high fives, blow kisses and even dance for the residents. Her entourage, however, had a different fate as she chased them with her sword and made them walk the plank!

Her entourage consisted of her mom Ashley Heath, Barbara Hinson and Annette Peery.

Mable Anne and her friends have been visiting AHC since the beginning of last year when Covid-19 hit, causing nursing homes to no longer allow visitors in order to keep residents safe.

Her mom became inspired when she remembered a children's book entitled Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox. In the book a little boy named Wilfrid befriends an older woman who has begun to lose her memory. Then, in an act of great kindness, little Wilfrid sets off to figure out what memories are and how he can help his new-found friend remember her own. Heath knew that she wanted to have a child that would grow up to be just as kind. So when Covid-19 began to spread like wildfire and left many feeling lonely during quarantine, Mable Anne and her mom realized this was their chance to make a difference.

As the weeks turned into months and the months turned into a year, Ashley and Mable Anne continued to visit AHC Lewis County. They've made many new friends along the way, and all of whom cannot wait for Monday mornings.
