Lewis County Herald - Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

On June 14, 2021 the Lewis County Elks Lodge held Flag Day and Flag Disposal Ceremonies. All members of the local VFW, American Legion, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts were invited to attend and the services were also open to the public.

Several members of the Elks Lodge as well as the community attended. A history of our flag was read and explained and a clean fire was held until all flags were properly disposed of.

Grommets from the flag were offered to all attendees for keepsake and the remaining grommets will be given to the Cub Scouts of Lewis County to be used for various possible crafts.
