Well it was a nice morning this morning here in our little valley, 68 degrees, but it sure has warmed up now and it is going to get hotter over the next few days. Just a normal summertime here in Lewis County.

You know when we were growing up, we didn’t think much about the heat. We played under the shade tree and after dinner we would take a nap on a pallet on the front porch. Our dinner most of the time was boiled potatoes over cornbread with an onion. Back then houses were built to be cooled by the breeze, and our bed was by a window and a cool breeze blew through there all the time....
