Fifth bass tournament at Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve

Miles Staggs, left, and Matt Carroll won their fourth event at the Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve's fourth bass tournament of the year on August 14, 2021. Together they caught five fish, with a total weight of 6.76 pounds.

Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve held their fifth bass tournament of the year at Chief Creek Lake on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Matt Carroll and Miles Staggs, of Lewis County, won their fourth event.

Anglers in the top 20 from Lewis County were: Carroll and Staggs, first place, catching five fish weighing 6.76 pounds; Michael Leigh and Earl Clark (Bedford), seventh place, catching three fish weighing 2.68 pounds; Steven Lee and Jason Sparks (Putnam), 13th place, catching one fish weighing 1.20 pounds; and Keith Smith (Perry) and Mason Jackson, 17th place, catching one fish weighing .94 pou...
