Prayers still for those people in the Waverly area where there was so much damage and loss of lives from the flood. Many are making an effort to help in different ways and I know it will all be appreciated. We have had several thunderstorms with some rain but every bit of rain is appreciated and helps to clean the atmosphere and the trees and vegetation besides watering the pastures and fields.

This year is fast getting away and before we know it the new year will be here. This week will begin September and so time flies by. Hoping for a great rest of the year with less sickness and problems in the world, especially in our nation.

Those that I know of that are sick at home, in the hospital or nursing homes are: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, L.C. Bowen, Amy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Tommy Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Linda Churchwell, Bailey Cromwell, Tommy Edwards, Wayne Holloway, Faye Kilpatrick, Monette King, Colben Ly, Greg McCann, Molly McCann, Daryl Mercer, Jackie McFall, Earl Rasbury, Shirley Reeves, Marsha Runions, Mona Runions, Vera Runions, Neil Skelton, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. Let us all pray for those who have the covid and that our nation will soon heal from this illness which has crippled our nation. Remember to pray for all sick and visit if you can or send a card or a phone call to let them know you are thinking of them. Let us all remember in prayer those who are serving in the military at this time, especially in Afghanistan.

Happy birthday to Jana Harper September 4th, Wayne Cochran the 5th, Joanie Duncan and Heather Hudgins the 6th, Nathan Odom, Wilda Lawson, and Sabrina Carroll the 8th, and Jan Walker the 9th. We wish for these a very happy birthday and may they have many more to celebrate.

Happy anniversary to Rodney and Angela Odom September 1, and to Wayne and Beverly Holloway the 3rd. We wish for these couples many more years to celebrate life together.

We express our sympathy to the families of Roy Elliot Calvert Jr., Richard John Butler, Harold George Choate, Beverly Diane Webb, Thomas Rankin Rasbury, Hilda Joyce Totty, and Kathryn “Kathy” Mary Johnson. Prayers for all these families and others we may not know about.

With the hurricane threating the coast we may get more rain this week and also cooler temperatures. I think the fair is going to be in town and it usually rains when it is here so we will see.

Prayers that your family stays healthy and happy during the coming weeks and months. Remember those who are sick and shut-in and help where you can and always remember to pray for them and call or send cards.
