Man who cut Lewis County child's throat over a video game commits suicide in custody

According to Tennessee River Valley News, Sammy Sadler Jr., who had been jailed over an incident where he reportedly slashed a child's thoat over a video game has died in custody.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office says that on this past Friday, August 27, 2021, Sadler was found unresponsive in early morning hours inside a shower.

Sadler was taken to a Nashville area hospital where he succumbed to his self inflicted injuries.

An internal investigation was conducted that concluded no foul play and all policy and procedures were followed.
