One Day at a Time

Series: One day at a time | Story 22

October 7, 2021

Well it is a cool fall moring here in our little valley, there is overcast clouds and a good breeze blowing, and the leaves are falling. The cats are all curled up on their beds napping.

I have got my cup of good hot coffee and I almost need a blanket here on the swing. Before long I will be inside sitting next to the fire in the old wood heating stove, now that will be nice too.

I didn’t get the vegtable soup canned last week, but I did can pears and made several jars of pear preserves. Our daughter and son in law brought us two bushels of pears so you know I’ve been busy. But I will can vegetable soup next week. We are all so blessed.

You know I was thinking about how this past year and a half has touched all of our lives in some way, but the good Lord said in this world we will have troubles and trails but we will get thru them with His help and we will be made stronger. So I’ve got a good hold on his coat and I’m not letting go. I have not seen the neighbors cows grazing this morning, I guess they are in another pasture. He sure has a lot of hay stacked down by the creek. I think a lot of folks have made a lot of hay this year. I’m still wondering what kind of winter we will have, there are a lot of arons and muscadine vines growing in the oak trees and the vines are just loaded with fruit. When we walk we always get a handful and they are really sweet.

I have got some fall decorations put out but I haven’t had time to get much out. We still have got some windows to wash and we’ve got to get the siding pressure washed.

It won’t be long until we start our Christmas decorating, some of you know that I go a little crazy with Christmas decorating. Someone said I decorate everything but Bob and the cats, haha. I love that time of year. Of course I couldn’t do it without my sons help, he agrees that I’m a little crazy too, but what do they know? I don’t do a lot of Christmas shopping, everyone gets mostly handmade things.

I think the Covid is slowing down, maybe we can get back to normal. Lets just keep praying for everyone. God hears our prayers and will answer in His own way. We have to believe.

I am going to take one day at a time and I am not going to worry about tomorrow, God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless.
