Elks Hoop Shoot
November 11, 2021
The Lewis County Elks Lodge #2883 will be hosting the first annual Elks Hoop Shoot on November 13, 2021 at the Lewis County Middle School Gym with registration beginning at noon. It's the Hoop Shoot's 50th Anniversary as a national program.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national free throw contest that has been developing gritty kids for 50 years. The participant's age on April 1, 2022 determines the age group for the participant. Youth ages 8-13 advance through local or Lodge contests, Districts, States and Regionals to the National Finals in Chicago, Illinois which will be held on April 30, 2022.
Six National Champions will have their names on a digital display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.
Why Hoop Shoot? Gritty kids are determined hard workers. Gritty kids become gritty adults with strong work ethics and goal-setting skills. The Elks Hoop Shoot is free. The Elks cover travel costs through each level. The Hoop Shoot offers similar life lessons as other sports programs. But what other program offers kids the chance to be in the Hall of Fame?
