November 11, 2021

This week we have had some killing frost. The children said it looked like snow and it certainly did early in the morning before the sun was up high enough to dry it off. I guess it is time, for we are less than two months from the end of this year. I for one am not ready for the cold weather but that doesn’t matter, it is on the way. We had temperatures in the upper twenties and low thirties this past week.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, L.C. Bowen, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Louie Chapin, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Monica Dupont, Johnny Dryden, Buffy Farnsworth, Lyda Mae Hooper (been diagnosed with breast cancer), Monette King, Colben Ly, Raquel Mallari, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Jackie McFall, Bill Moore, Donna Owen, Colene Rasbury, Shirley Reeves, Marsha Runions, Mona Runions, Bill Seiber, Nell Skelton, Wayne Tiller, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers.

We wish a happy birthday to Joy Franks on November 10th, Emily Clayton the 13th, to Blant Mayes, Tanner Carroll, Angela Odom and Dot Kauffman the 14th, Daryl Mercer and Pam Carroll the 15th, Amanda Foster the 16th, and Shelia Plunkett the 18th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Burton and Retha Graham on November 11, wishing them many more happy years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones: Beth Landis, Tiffany Colurd Thompson, Chastina Roberts Brown, Martha Haymons, Bobby Ray Hartman, Willis Joe Pinkerton, Gail Smith Wright, Mary Emma Green Webb, Oneal Barber, Darinka Fetima Poch, Martha Elizabeth Going, and Edward Lee Milan. Prayers for all these families and any others that we may not know about.

On November 12th it will be six years since our Starr went to be with her Lord. We miss and love her very much but know that she is in a much better place. We must remember that she loved everyone and was always smiling and seemed to be happy. It seems like only yesterday, but time goes on and we must use our memories to help us through the rough times in our lives. Thanks to God for allowing us to have her those twelve years. Know that there are others who have faced this loss in their lives, and we pray for you as you adjust your life to deal with the loss.

The ball season is about over for softball and baseball for the little or young children. We know they have enjoyed this and thanks to all those who coach and help in any way to see that they had a great time.

Praying for you to have a great week and month as we come into the holiday for Thanksgiving and let us remember those who sacrificed to give us this day and also to those veterans who will be remembered on November 11. Please thank a veteran if you meet one who has served our nation to help protect us from outside dangers.

May you have a great week and enjoy health and happiness. Remember those who are less fortunate and pray for them but also send a card or call if you can’t visit them.
