One day at a Time...

Series: One day at a time | Story 29

Well it is a cool fall morning here in our little valley. The cats have eaten and are back in their warm beds. The old wood heating stove sure feels good. I have already got my Christmas tree lights up and they are turned on, it sure is a wonderful morning.

The leaves are almost all gone off the trees and are piling up in our yard, looks like we are going to have a big job to do and not long to get it done before it turns bad cold.

I have got most of my Christmas decorating done, I didn’t go too crazy this year but I still have got lots of little trees up and I am trying to put a little bit of Christmas everywhere, I can tell you that around here “it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.” I can’t wait to start sending out Christmas cards, I have been buying a few stamps throughout the year so that I can be ready. I have got my Thanksgiving turkey thawing and I have got my meal planned, all my kids will be here for Thanksgiving and I am sure looking forward to Thanksgiving, as I a sure most of you are too. I know it will be a sad time for some folks who have lost someone from the covid, we all have had some sadness this past year. But I guess life goes on and we all have to do the best that we can and trust in our good Lord and He will give us the strength to get through.

We all have something to be thankful for, you know, I got a piece of paper and pen and I sat down and started writing down things that I really have to be thankful for and guess what? The paper was covered front and back and there still was not enough room to write down all the blessings that I am thankful for. Then I thought, I never say thank you enough to the Lord for what He does for me. I taught my kids to always say thank you when someone did something for the, but do I say thank you? I will do better.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and lets all be thankful and count our blessings, try writing your blessings down on paper, it will make you feel better and it just takes a few minutes and lets all try to help someone even if it is just to give someone a few words of encouragement. We can all do that and sometimes that means more than anything. I read somewhere that a positive attitude and a good sense of humor goes together like biscuits and gravy, and who doesn’t like good brown biscuits covered with gravy?

I am going to take one day at a time and not worry about tomorrow because God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless.
