TDOT started clearing the roads on Wednesday morning, getting ready for snow that would last nearly all weekend long. Danny Atkinson, EMA Director, reported that Hohenwald had accumulated 5-8 inches of snowfall.

The average snowfall for Hohenwald in January is a reported monthly average of around 2 inches. The National Weather Service does not have an up-to-date historical record of Hohenwald's climate, so other sources had to be referred to. Some said 1.7 inches was the monthly average, while others said 2.6 inches.

Twila Pigg, 911 Dispatch Superervisor, said there were 16 reported wrecks from Thursday to Saturday. They also had calls about a couple fallen trees.

Thankfully, Pigg said she believed none of the accidents were very serious and there was a lower number of calls than expected throughout the snowfall.

No matter how you look at it, Hohenwald has gotten a lot of snow in the past couple weeks, making for some slippery back roads and happy kids!
