MLEC Now Hiring: JOURNEY LINEWORKER OR HIGH STEP APPRENTICE LINEWORKER

Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative is seeking a qualified individual for the following position in our Perry County, Tennessee office.

Applicants must possess a minimum of three years of experience in the electric utility business and have experience in climbing poles, operating digger and bucket trucks, line construction and maintenance, and system feeders. Applicants must be able to safely handle primary and secondary voltages using protective equipment. Completion of a certified apprenticeship program is required of journey lineworker. High Step apprentices must be able to pull standby within six months and be enrolled or have been enrolled in a qualified apprentice program.

Applicants must reside or be willing to relocate to the Perry County service area or within the MLEC service area and within 30 minutes of the Perry County district office. Class A CDL is required or must be obtained with-in six months of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
