Opal L. Halbrooks was born in Pleasantville on May 22, 1929 to the late Bessie Joyce and Daniel Tanner. She passed away on January 24, 2022 at the age of 92.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Williams, and her sons, Norman Williams and Hillard Williams.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Betty) Williams, Clinton (Sherry) Williams, and Milton (Joan) Williams, as well as a sister, Oweda King.
