The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers continued their District 10AA schedule travelling to Loretto to take on the Loretto Lady Mustangs and Mustangs on January 21st.

The Lady Panthers took the floor against one of the top girls teams in the state, the Lady Mustangs, in the first game of the night. It didn't take too long for Loretto to show there talent level as they took control of the game from the opening tip and sprinted their way out in front 25-4 in the first quarter. The Lady Mustang defense was stellar in the second quarter, shutting out the Lady Panthers in the period and building a 48-4 lead as the teams left the floor for the half. The pace continued to cause problems for the Lady Panthers in the third quarter with Loretto outscoring the Lady Panthers 19-3 and the Lady Mustangs held a commanding 67-7 lead as play headed into the fourth quarter. With a running clock in the final eight minutes of action, the Lady Mustangs continued to pressure the Lady Panthers and ran away with an 82-9 District 10AA win. Mya Siever had 4 points for the Lady Panthers, Blayr Clayton and Desirae Warman each had 2, and Serenity Warman had 1.

The matchup between the Panthers and Mustangs in the second game of the evening started out as a tight contest as both teams ran the floor and exchanged buckets before the Mustangs took a 13-11 lead at the end of the first quarter with Austin Shepherd contributing 4 to the Lewis County total. The Mustangs began to open up their lead in the second quarter as they doubled-up the Panthers 18-9 to run their lead to 31-20 at halftime. After the break the Mustangs exploded for 21 third-quarter points and pulled away from the Panthers despite 6 points in the period from Bryson Clayburn. The Mustangs ended the third by pushing their lead to 52-31 at the end of the quarter. The Mustangs would cruise to a 73-41 final to win the District 10AA matchup with the Panthers. Lewis County was led in scoring by Bryson Clayburn with 10 points, Dyer Barnes added 9, Austin Shepherd had 7, Hunter Smith 4, Kyle Holcomb, Steele Moseley, and Cade Lomax each had 3, and Rhett Middleton, Luke Lawson, and Wyatt Bosheers each had 2.

The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Summertown Lady Eagles and Eagles on January 25th for District 10AA matchups.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Eagles took the floor for the first game of the evening. The Lady Eagles pulled out in front from the tip, outscoring the Lady Panthers 21-6 in the first eight minutes of play. The second quarter was much like the first as the visitors continued to add to their lead in the period and took a 39-13 lead in at the break. Summertown picked up in the third quarter where they left off in the second, pushing the pace of the game and outscoring Lewis County 18-8 in the period to build a 57-21 lead moving into the final quarter of regulation. With a running clock in the final eight, the Lady Eagles cruised to a 67-26 District 10AA win over the Lady Panthers. Serenity Warman led Lewis County with 12 points in the loss, Desirae Warman added 7, Kerrigan Reeves 4, and Blayr Clayton 3.

The Panthers and Eagles played a fast-paced first quarter that saw the Panthers lead the entire quarter until a buzzer-beating three to end the period gave the Eagles an 18-16 lead at the end of the first, as Bryson Clayburn dropped 7 and the Panthers trailed by 2 moving into the second quarter. The Eagles would turn up the heat in the second quarter, doubling up the Panthers 18-9 in the period, and held a 36-25 lead at the half. The Panthers struggled out of the break, and the Eagles took advantage as they outpaced Lewis County 24-7 in the third to hold a 60-32 lead moving into the final quarter of play. The Panthers would be held to a lone Austin Shepherd bucket in the final eight minutes as the Eagles pulled away to a 76-34 win in District 10AA play. Bryson Clayburn ended with 14 points, Rhett Middleton added 9, Hunter Smith 6, Austin Shepherd and Malachi Bruce 2 each, and Cade Lomax 1.

The Lewis County Lady Panthers and Panthers high school teams returned to the hardwood on Friday night, January 28th, to face the Mt. Pleasant High School Lady Tigers and Tigers in District 10AA play

The Lady Panthers and Lady Tigers took the floor in the first game of the evening, a rematch from earlier in the month, and the game started off close. The two teams played an even first quarter as the Lady Tigers held a slim 1-point lead at 7-6 at the end of the first quarter. The tight matchup held to form through the second quarter as the teams again matched baskets for the period and Mt. Pleasant took an 18-16 lead into the half. After the break it was the Lady Tigers that grabbed the momentum, doubling their first half output in the third quarter and outscoring the Lady Panthers 18-10 in the period to hold a 36-26 lead as play moved into the final eight minutes of regulation. Lewis County would begin to chip into the lead in the early part of the fourth quarter, getting 6 points in the period from Blayr CLayton, but the Lady Tiger lead proved to be too much as the Lady Panthers dropped the District 10AA tilt 50-41. Serenity Warman had 11 points for the Lady Panthers in the loss, Blayr Clayton added 10, Mya Siever had 6, Kerrigan Reeves and Emily Bratcher each had 4, and Desirae Warman and Jayden Moore each had 2.

The Panthers and Tigers contest was the second game of the evening, and the Panthers were hoping to sweep the regular-season series with the TIgers after the win at Mt. Pleasant. It was another tight first quarter between the teams as they exchanged buckets, and the lead, throughout the first eight minutes. Dyer Barnes (5) and Bryson Clayburn (4) fueled the first quarter for the home team, but the Tigers held a 16-15 lead as play moved to the second quarter. Rhett Middleton dropped 8 in the second period as the Panthers kept pace with the Tigers and Mt. Pleasant held on to a one-point lead, 31-30, at the half. The Panthers would work to claim the lead in the third with Clayburn posting 8 in the quarter and Lewis County took the lead at 42-40 as the teams hit the break before the fourth quarter. Middleton would score 7 in the final eight minutes, and the Panthers would convert 9 of 11 fourth-quarter free throws on their way to the 60-56 win in District 10AA play. Rhett Middleton led 3 double-digit scorers for the Panthers with 15, Dyer Barnes and Bryson Clayburn each had 14, Austin Shepherd added 5, and Hunter Smith, Luke Lawson, and Wyatt Bosheers each had 4.

The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers travelled to Pulaski to take on the Giles County Lady Bobcats and Bobcats in District 10AA play on Tuesday, February 1st.

When the girls' teams took the hardwood, it was the host Lady Bobcats that seized the momentum early in the first quarter. Giles County would sprint out to a 27-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter of action was much the same as the Lady Bobcats continued to build on their already large lead. Lewis County would get 6 points from Kerrigan Reeves in the second quarter, but the Lady Panthers would find themselves trailing 45-16 at the half. The pace slowed in the third quarter as the Lady Panthers held the Lady Bobcats to 11 points in the period, but Lewis County was unable to close the gap and trailed 56-22 as play moved into the fourth quarter. With a running clock in the fourth, Kerrigan Reeves scored all 6 Lewis County points in the period as Giles County took the 65-28 win. Kerrigan Reeves had 12 points for the Lady Panthers, Serenity Warman added 9 points, Mya Siever had 5, and Emily Bratcher 2.

In the boys' matchup following the girls' game, Lewis County jumped out early with 5 points each from Dyer Barnes and Bryson Clayburn to take a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bobcats would power their way back in the game in the second quarter, holding the Panthers to only 8 points in the period while pulling out to a 35-20 lead at the half. The third quarter was a tight period of action as the Bobcats outscored the Panthers 20-18 and took a 55-38 lead into the final period of regulation. The fourth quarter was another scoring explosion for Giles County as they dropped 28 in the period and ran away to an 83-45 win over the Panthers. Dyer Barnes led Lewis County with 13 points, Hunter Smith added 10 points, Rhett Middleton 9, Bryson Clayburn 5, Kyle Holcomb and Wyatt Bosheers 3 each, and Caden Anderson 2.

The LCHS Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Giles County Lady Bobcats and Bobcats in a rematch of District 10AA play from earlier in the week. The teams were originally scheduled to have played 2 weeks prior, but inclement weather forced the game to be postponed to Saturday, February 5th. The Lady Panthers, Panthers, and LCHS Cheerleaders also celebrated their Seniors with Senior Night recognition prior to the action.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Bobcats took the floor in the first game of the evening, and the Lady Panthers were on their game from the tip. Desirae Warman knocked down three shots in three shots in the opening frame, scoring 6 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a 14-12 lead after the first eight minutes. The second quarter was another closely played period of action as the Lady Bobcats would cut the lead to one at 25-24 as the teams left the floor at halftime. The half did not seem to slow the Lady Panthers as they continued to play hard and add to their lead, with Kerrigan Reeves scoring 9 of the team's 14 in the third and Lewis County took a 39-33 lead into the fourth quarter. Serenity Warman would come in huge in the final eight minutes as she scored 7 and Lewis County pulled away to a 55-43 win at home, their first win of the season and a District 10AA victory. Serenity Warman had 16 for the Lady Panthers, Kerrigan Reeves added 15, Desirae Warman 9, Mya Siever 8, Blayr Clayton 3, and Emily Bratcher and Ruth Jennings 2 each.

In the boys' matchup, it was the Bobcats that paced the game early, jumping out on a 9-0 run in the early moments of the game. But the Panthers would storm right back matching the Bobcats on a 9-0 run midway through the first, but Giles County would end the first on a short streak and take a 20-17 lead into the second quarter. The pace of the game continued to be fast into the second period as the Bobcats would add to their lead, outscoring the Panthers 22-15 in the quarter to take a 42-32 lead in at halftime. The Panthers would fight back in the third quarter as they outscored the Bobcats 16-11 to cut the Giles County lead in half and the score was 53-48 in favor of Giles County moving into the fourth. The Panthers pushed the tempo in efforts to overcome the Bobcats but fell short in a 76-68 DIstrict 10AA loss. Dyer Barnes had 26 points for the Panthers, Hunter Smith and Rhett Middleton each had 14, Bryson Clayburn had 8, and Austin Shepherd had 6.
