3rd grade Panther and Lady Panthers basketball

In their first game the Lady Panthers faced the team from Deshler, Alabama. The two teams played a tight first half of the game as Deshler outscored Lewis County 4-3 and held the 1 point lead at the half. The second half was equally as close as the first, as the two teams played tough defense in a low scoring second half of play and Deshler held on to take a 7-6 win over Lewis County. Jazlynn Baugh led the Lady Panthers with 3 points in the Deshler game, Addisen Staggs added 2 points, and Landree White had 1 point.
In their second game of the day the Lady Panthers took on Wayne County. Wayne County jumped out in fron ealt of Lewis County as they outscored the Lady Panthers 14-3. The second half was more from the team from Wayne County as they continued to pull away from the Lady Panthers on their way to a 27-7 win. Jacelyn Anthony, Jazlynn Baugh, and Addisen Staggs each had 2 points for Lewis County.
The 3rd Grade Lady Panthers ended the day 0-2 in TVBA play.
The 3rd Grade Lady Panthers are Jacelyn Anthony, Jayda Baugh, Jazlynn Baugh, Briley Dodson, Delani Hull, Olivia Jones, Ansley Lomax, Sophie Mullen, Addisen Staggs, and Landree White.

The 3rd Grade Panthers TVBA team travelled to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to take on two teams from Muscle Shoals on Saturday, February 5th.
In their opening game of the day, the Panthers faced off with the first of two teams in their division from Muscle Shoals. Lewis County pulled out in front in the first half of action as Haven Ray had 4 of the Panthers’ 9 first half points on the way to a 9-5 lead at halftime. In the second half of the game, Haven Ray and Kanon McDonald each dropped 6 points as Lewis County cruised to a 27-15 win over Muscle Shoals. Haven Ray had 10 points to lead the Panthers, Kanon McDonald added 8, Kayden O’Neal had 4, Carter Creasy 3, and Michael Adkins 2.
In their second game of the day, the Panthers took on the second Muscle Shoals team. The Panthers struggled against the strong Muscle Shoals team in the first half, only able to score 6 points in the half while Muscle Shoals took a 14-6 lead at halftime. The second half of action was a mirror image of the first as Lewis County continued to find scoring opportunities hard to come by and Muscle Shoals would again outscore Lewis County 14-6 in the second half to secure a 28-12 win. Kanon McDonald had 4 points to lead Lewis County, Michael Adkins, Cooper Johnston, Carter Creasy, and Kayden O’Neal each had 2 points in the loss.
Lewis County’s 3rd grade boys finished 1-1 in TVBA play on the day.
