The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers played the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers in the Play-In game for the District 10AA tournament on Monday night, February 14th. The winner would move on to the semifinal round of the District Tournament and the loser’s season would be over. The Lady Tigers hosted the matchup at Mt. Pleasant High School as they held the #4 seed in the district and the Lady Panthers were the #5 seed.
The game started at a very slow, methodical pace as the Lady Panthers showed patience attacking the Lady Tiger zone. Offensive opportunities were limited in the first quarter as Lewis County took a 4-3 lead after the first eight minutes of action.
The Lewis County defense continued to hold down the Lady Tiger offense as Mt. Pleasant had only one field goal in the period and 4 points from the charity stripe while Lady Panthers got 5 points from Ruth Jennings to build a 16-9 lead at halftime.
The host Lady Tigers would fight back after the break, doubling their first half total as the pace of the game picked up, but Lewis County would match the Lady Tiger output and the Lady Panthers maintained a 7-point lead at the end of the third quarter with a 25-18 score.
The two teams had their best offensive quarters of the game in the final period of regulation as Mt. Pleasant tried to get back in the game, but the Lady Panthers would seal the game at the freethrow line led by 10 from Kerrigan Reeves and Lewis County held on for a 46-39 win in the knockout round of the District 10AA tournament. Kerrigan Reeves led the Lady Panthers with 15 points in the win, Serenity Warman added 10 points, Mya Siever had 8, Ruth Jennings 7, and Desirae Warman 6.
With the win, the Lady Panthers advanced to the semi-finals of the District 10AA tournament to face the #1 seed Loretto Lady Mustangs on Thursday night, February 17th. In addition, the Lady Panthers would secure a place in the Regional Tournament.

The Lewis County Lady Panthers travelled to Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, February 17th for their semi-final meeting with the Loretto Lady Mustangs in the District 10AA tournament at Mt. Pleasant High School.
The Lady Mustangs are one of the top teams in AA. The Lady Mustangs blitzed the Lady Panthers from the opening tipoff as Lewis County was limited to a lone Mya Siever three-point basket in the first quarter while Loretto pulled out in front to control the game 29-3 at the end of the period.
While the pace slowed somewhat in the second quarter the Lady Panthers continued to find limited opportunities to score with Serenity Warman accounting for all 4 of Lewis County’s points in the quarter and the Lady Mustangs took a commanding 46-7 lead in at halftime.
Lewis County would be shut out completely in the third quarter as the Lady Mustangs extended their already large lead to take a 64-7 lead into the final eight minutes of play.
With a running clock in the final quarter, Lewis County would outscore the Loretto reserves 7-5 with Kerrigan Reeves contributing 3 in the period as the Lady Mustangs would cruise into the District 10AA Championship game with a 69-14 win over Lewis County.
Serenity Warman led Lewis County with 6 points in the loss, Mya Siever had 5 points, and Kerrigan Reeves added 3 points.
The Lady Panthers moved to the consolation game in the District 10AA tournament to face the #3 seed Lady Bobcats of Giles County on Monday, February 21st.

The Lady Panthers returned to the hardwood in DIstrict 10AA tournament play on Monday night, February 21st in the consolation game against the Giles County Lady Bobcats at Mt. Pleasant high school.
The two teams split the regular season matchups with each team taking wins on their home court. The Lady Bobcats would secure an early lead at 9-6 as the Lady Panthers got 4 points early from Kerrigan Reeves and trailed by 3 moving on to the second quarter.
Giles County would dominate the second quarter holding Lewis County to 7 points, 5 coming from Mya Siever, on their way to taking a 30-13 in at halftime.
The Lady Bobcats would continue to add to their lead as they outscored the Lady Panthers 15-10 in the third quarter, with Mya Siever contributing 6 to the Lewis County total, and Gile County held a 45-23 lead moving into the final eight minutes of play.
The Lady Panthers would be held to only 4 points in the final quarter of action as the Lady Bobcats pulled away to a 60-27 win.
Lewis County was led by Mya Siever with 11 points, Desirae Warman added 6 points, Kerrigan Reeves 4, Serenity Warman 3, Ruth Jennings 2, and Blayr Clayton 1.
The Lady Panthers finished the District 10AA Tournament in 4th place and Giles County 3rd. Loretto was crowned the District 10AA champion after defeating Summertown in the championship game. The Lady Panthers will travel to either Cheatham County or White House Heritage to take on the District 9AA Champions in the first round of the Region 5AA tournament on Friday, February 25th.
