Lewis County High School was proud to announce Derek Rang as their new head football coach last week.

Rang was born in Illinois and moved to Maryville, Tennessee, when he was a kid. There he played football and graduated from Maryville High School. He has been coaching for a collective 15 years and has a teaching degree in Mathematics.

"I've always been very passionate about football. I felt like it was a calling to give it a shot and quickly fell in love with it, and I was lucky to be enough to make a career out of it," he said.
