The new Justice Center recently received a grant of $82,881.84 for the installation of audio-visual equipment needed for the court rooms.

Through a great deal of teamwork and effort, the County was able to secure the grant which required no match. This means that the County did not have to spend any money because the grant is fully funded.

The court rooms are now equipped with speakers, mics, projection screens and much more that are all able to be controlled from the judges' bench.

"This audio-visual equipment was desperately needed for our Justice Center, and had to be purchased. So without this grant, the County would have been forced to dip into our General Fund Balance to pay for it," said County Mayor Jonah Keltner, "However, because of the successful teamwork of Captain Moore who wrote the grant, Mr. Schwendimann who oversaw the project and Mr. Thomas who completed the final reimbursement paperwork, we were able to save nearly $83,000 in local tax dollars. I'm very thankful for their leadership in getting this accomplished for Lewis County."
