The Lewis County Quarterly Court passed a resolution prohibiting the use of the Courthouse grounds for tent shows of any kind or character. The Sheriff was ordered to enforce the provisions of this resolution. J.C. Bisbee had announced in the previous week’s newspaper (April 10) that Bisbee’s Comedians would pitch a tent on the courthouse.
