Well it is a beautiful morning here in our little valley. It is a warm and sunny day. I am so glad to see this warmer weather and I sure am enjoying these days getting longer.

I fed the cats a little early this morning. The sun was shining right across the front porch and after the cats ate they were really enjoying the front yard. They were chasing bugs and each other and having all kinds of fun.

This morning was warm enough that I took my coffee and went to the front porch swing for the first time this year. Even in the wintertime the sun shines in the mornings on the rocking chairs next to where the cats always eat their breakfast. They won’t get up in the mornings if they couldn’t eat their breakfast in the sunshine.

The old oak tree that was in the front yard is gone and the grass is now growing where it was. I guess some of you remember me writing about that old oak tree and how when the sun shined a certain way in the mornings the shadow of that tree made a cross on the front yard, the old oak tree is gone but not forgotten.

The birds are busy building their nests and I saw a hummingbird so I guess it is time for them to come back. We walked up and checked on the blueberry bushes and they are going to have lots of blueberries. I make blueberry juice and jam each year and they are good to have anytime but especially during the wintertime and real early in the spring.

We got the yard mowed and it looks good. Bob is still picking up sticks from all the high winds and heavy rains. Bobby has been doing some pressure washing. We are all trying to get our spring cleaning done before the weather gets hot.

We sure are enjoying these warm days and I am really enjoying being able to walk barefoot on the porches and walks.

I checked the old apple tree and it is loaded with little baby apples. I don’t think the late frost that we had hurt all of the fruit. I guess I will be making a lot of apple butter this year. Apple butter is something that my kids want for Christmas every year.

I have got a busy day planned. Bob has got the dishes washed and the kitchen is spotless. I have got a load of clothes in washing and when they are done I will hang them on the clothes line and it won’t take them long to dry on a warm day like this.

I hope all of you had a good Easter. We went to our daughter and son-in-law’s house, all of our family was there. Our two daughters got together and had an early surprise birthday party for Bob and me, both of our birthdays are in the first part of May. We had a wonderful time. We had a big homemade birthday cake, there was lots of balloons and decorations, it was a big surprise for both of us. Thank you to our sweet family, we love you all.

It is time to get busy, I sure am enjoying this front porch swing, it is going to be a good day. I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time, God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless.
