The Lewis County Middle School Lady Panthers traveled to Summertown to take on the Summertown Lady Eagles on Wednesday, April 13th.

Brailey took the hill to start for Lewis County and retired the Summertown Lady Eagle batters in order to begin the game, and the Lady Panthers went down three in a row, all by strikeout, for a scoreless first. Carroll worked around a leadoff single to retire three straight in the second. Cabry Adkins was the first Lady Panther baserunner, reaching on an error and coming around to score on a one-out single by Brailey Carroll to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Eagles got a leadoff single in the third, and a costly two-out error followed by a single would give Summertown a 2-1 lead. C.J. Tanner would reach on a two-out single in the home third but remained stranded as Summertown held on to a 2-1 lead. Summertown would open things up in the fourth starting with a leadoff single. With one down Summertown reached on another single and a costly error followed by a pair of hits that would plate three and extend the visitor lead to 5-1. Adkins singled to start the fourth but was cut down on a fielder’s choice and the Lady Panthers were held in check in the inning. Carroll settled down in the top of the fifth, again retiring the Summertown bats in order. Tiller represented the lone Lady Panther baserunner in the bottom of the fifth, reaching on a single with two outs, and the score remained 5-1 after five complete. Kinlee Keltner came on in relief of Carroll in the sixth inning, and Summertown would combine 3 hits, 2 walks, a hit batter, and an error to plate six runs in the sixth to open up an 11-1 lead. The Lady Panthers would go down scoreless in the bottom of the sixth and dropped the final 11-1.
