Amber Falls Winery selected for cultural diplomacy

The Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy is honored to announce Amber Falls has been selected as the official winery of the US branch of the 16-nation non-profit based in Athens, Greece.

Throughout history, wine has been a symbol of regional pride and hospitality and an expression of friendship and Cultural Diplomacy.

Criteria for selection by the US branch, headquartered in Nashville, was threefold: excellence of product, brand initiative in highlighting Tennessee, and outstanding representative of the growth of wineries in Tennessee.

“When asking for Board recommendations from among the many possible wineries in Middle Tennessee, I was delighted that Board members suggested Amber Falls as their choice,” said DeeGee Lester, President of HICD-USA and 1968 graduate of Lewis County High School.

“As we build robust cultural collaborations with Greece, marking this year’s 125th Anniversary of the Nashville Parthenon, the 2024 Bicentennial of Nashville as the Athens of the South, and into the decades ahead, it is exciting to know that the winery’s products, as representative of Lewis County hospitality, will welcome Greek dignitaries. HICD-USA congratulates Tim and Judy Zaunbrecher as partners and Cultural Diplomats, contributing to bonds of friendship between the US and Greece.”
