Forgery, theft suspect arrested

On April 18, 2022 Sergeant Michael Dunn of the Hohenwald Police Department was notified by off duty officer Travis Koch that a theft had taken place in Hohenwald.

Officer Koch, president of the Hohenwald Masonic Lodge #607, stated he was contacted by treasurer of the lodge, Brad Rasbury, about checks and money that had been taken out of the lodge bank account. Rasbury stated that secretary of the lodge, Adam Tomlin, had forged checks and taken money out of the lodge account without permission, totaling $1,835.

When confronted by Rasbury, Tomlin told him that he took the checks and signed Brad's name to them and cashed them to feed his drug habit.

Sergeant Dunn went to Tomlin's Hohenwald residence and placed him under arrest. Tomlin waived his rights and agreed to speak with Dunn. Tomlin admitted to taking the checks from Rasbury's truck, forging his name, and receiving money from the checks.

Tomlin was charged with 13 counts of theft of property for stealing the checks; 13 counts of theft of property for cashing the checks and receiving money; and 13 counts of forgery for signing Rasbury's name to the checks. He was taken to Lewis County Jail with a $84,000 bond but has recently bonded out. Tomlin is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on June 2, 2022.
