Christy, Ashmore win MLEC Scholarships

Cooperative names annual Washington Youth Tour Short Story Contest Winners

 

Lewis County High School Juniors Cayden Christy, left, and Mercie Ashmore, right, are school winners in Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative's annual short story contest. Christy, second place, receives a $1000 scholarship, and Ashmore, first place, receives a $2000 scholarship. Additionally, Ashmore will represent MLEC, expenses-paid, on the 2022 Washington Youth Tour in June with other winners across the state. MLEC District Manager Jason Graves is also pictured. MLEC is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility that serves more than 34,500 meters in Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry counties.
