Members of the Alpha Rho Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) attended the 86th Tennessee State Convention at The University of South in Sewanee, Tennessee on June 204, 2022. A highlight of the convention was the presence and participation of the Society's International President Becky Sadowski and keynote speaker Jill Speering. Speering is a thirty-five year veteran educator who has served two terms on the Metro Nashville School Board of Education. She is the author of Rubies in the Rubble: An Educator's Transformation from Pain to Prominence, from Abuse to Absolution.

DKG is a professional honor society comprised of women educators with more than 60,000 members. Established in 17 member countries around the world, the Society defines its mission as promoting professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Alpha Rho Chapter of Tennessee includes women educators from Hickman, Lewis, Perry, and Wayne County.

Barbara Hinson was recognized for fifty years of DKG membership.

Alpha Rho members who attended state convention were active throughout the weekend with many chairing and serving on state committees. Immediate past state president Dr. Beverly Hall serves as Chapter Strengthening Chair and was awarded in 2022 State Achievement Award.
