Tennessee Aquarium visits Lewis County Library

Lewis County Public Library and Archives was joined by aquarist Stephanie Soto from the Tennessee Aquarium virtually on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Soto showed a "fish-eye view" of the coral on display at the Aquarium and quizzed participants on coral life. Ms. Soto explained how they feed the animals in the aquarium and introduced everyone to Stewie the sea turtle. Then she introduced Boxer the box turtle, a native of Tennessee. The audience was amazed when she shared that from the Aquarium in Chattanooga, it would take three rivers and two weeks to float to the ocean. "Thank you Tennessee Aquarium for coming to visit our library."

The library's next family event is the Elephant Watersports outside the library on Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m. This event will involve water, so bring a towel.
