Steven Wade Bates, 57, passed away June 10, 2022, at his home in Lobelville. Mr. Bates was a teacher and a coach for many years at Lobelville Elementary. He will be remembered always by many former students as "Coach Bates".

Steve was a member of the Brush Creek Church of Christ. He was a 1983 graduate from Perry County High School, playing both baseball and basketball. He received his B.S. degree from Freed Hardeman University.
