South Central Area Fair's First Annual Ag Day!

The South Central Area Fair's activities begin this weekend! This year's fair will begin with a first Annual Agriculture Day on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

The fun will kick off by Smokin' up the City with a Big Green Egg grill, sponsored by H&R Ace Hardware! There, passers-by can have a sample tasting, win cash prizes and even win a Big Green Egg!! There is no charge to compete in the event.

Then a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Lewis County Elks Lodge #2883 will be held at the new picnic tables pavillion, starting at 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. where pancakes, sausage, coffee and other drinks will be served. It will be a fundraiser for the Elks organization.

Soon after you've had your pancakes, you can then head on over to the Farmers Market which will be held from 8:00 in the morning to 2:00 in the afternoon at the new Ag Pavillion. To reserve your spot in the first annual Ag Day Farmer's Market, register online at http://www.scafair.org/FarmersMarket. There is no charge to set up at the Farmers Market.

There is also entertainment for kids! There will be a bounce/slide combo inflatable, a 16-foot water slide and even a 19-foot water slide! Inflata-World and Tri-Star Inflatables will be set up from 10 in the morning until 7 in the evening.

Adults haven't been left out , with a cornhole and horseshoe tournament! The tournament begins at 6:00 p.m. with registration starting at 5:30 on site. The prizes are $300 for first and $100 for second. Bring your own lawn chairs and coolers!

The long-awaited 2022 South Central Area Fairest of the Fair Pageants are scheduled for Saturday, August 27 for ages 0-110 at the Lewis County Middle School Auditorium.

All in all, the first annual Ag Day is the perfect set-up for the South Central Area Fair, scheduled for August 30 through September 3, 2022.
