On August 14, 2022, at the age of 66, Bobby Melton passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. He was born in Hohenwald on July 14, 1956, to the late Raymond Crockett Jr. and Sallie Dee Rogers Melton.

Bobby had a larger-than-life personality with a contagious laugh that no one will forget. No matter how bad your day had been, he would always find a way to brighten it. He lived his life to the fullest and made every day even better than the day before. His true love was spending time with his family especially his grandbabies. Mr. Melton also loved fishing, his dogs, and of course just having a good time.

Mr. Melton is survived by his children, Michelle Crouch, Shari Tackett, and Johnny Melton; grandchildren, Christopher (Jasmine) Tackett, James Cody Tackett, Bethany Crouch, Abigail Crouch, Jillian Sanders, and Jess McNabb; great-grandchildren, Avery Tackett, Abby Sanders, and Noctus Sanders; and brother, Donnie Melton. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory a very special friend and mother of his children, Mary Ellen Kilburn.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Courtney; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Tackett; brothers, Roy Lee Rogers, Tony Lee Melton, Terry Melton, Ray Melton, and Raven Pipkins; daughter-in-law, Amanda Kaye Melton; and son-in-law, Marty E. Crouch.
