Love Your Library Events at Library and Archives

February 2, 2023

Christopher Spitzer, Brandy Price, Kendra Simpson, Hadley Spitzer, and Sam Fellers from the Movie Mates and Book Buds group have given their hearts to the library.  The library hopes to have its windows covered with hearts by the end of February as part of its "Love Your Library" campaign.  Hearts may be purchased at the library.  All funds go towards library expansion.

Are you a library user with a story to warm the heart about your library?  Has the library made a difference in your life?  If so, the Lewis County Public Library and Archives would love to hear from you. During the month of February, the library and archives will be hosting Love Your Library: a Snapshot of the Heart of Our Community. The goal of this campaign is to promote awareness of the library and its impact on the citizens of Lewis County.

The Lewis County Public Library and Archives wants to collect the stories of the library users behind the statistics. They want library patrons to comment on what the library means to them, why they come to the library and share pictures from all over the county. You can participate by visiting the library and archives and filling out a postcard to share your library story, signing a banner, or even adding a heart to the library's window. Your stories and input will be shared with the TSLA and local legislators.

The following events are also scheduled in conjunction with this campaign:

February 4: 'National Take Your Child to the Library Day'. Families will enjoy a pizza-themed storytime, crafting, and gaming beginning at 10:30 a.m.

February 14: We Love Our Patrons Day. We will be showing appreciation for the patrons who use our library. Stop by to enjoy a treat and other activities.

Tennessee's libraries are all busier than ever as people seek to check out books, ebooks and access digital resources. More than ever before people are accessing computers, using library resources to job hunt and to conduct research, and attending programs at their local libraries. All across our state, libraries are serving as the heart of their communities, as places for people to gather to visit, work, learn and share ideas. Our libraries are a refuge during this difficult economic time meeting a variety of needs and providing resources that many can no longer afford alone.
