Cub Scout News

Recently, the Tiger and Wolf Cub Scout Dens went on an outing to identify animal paw prints as part of their Backyard Jungle and Call of the Wild belt loops. Almost all of the scouts found the ones common to this area, such as squirrel, cat and raccoon. Many found turkey paw prints and some found skunk and porcupine! The scouts had a wonderful time searching for them, then identifying all of the little prints in the dirt, sand and mud. After the search, they enjoyed a wonderful snack of dirt pudding cups with worms and juice pouches! The Scouts will be working on bird feeders and bird houses this month, which will also be part of their Backyard Jungle belt loops. The Scouts will be having a small flag placing ceremony this coming Tuesday, May 16th at Memorial Gardens. In addition, they will be having a larger flag placing ceremony on the 20th at noon, at the Swiss Cemetery in Hohenwald, with the Perry County Scouts joining the local group. Even though the school year is winding down, their scouting year is not stopping! The Cub Scouts will be continuing through the summer break to go on adventures, have fun and earn belt loops. Boys are invited to come enjoy the scouting experience with the group. As always, the scouting system is open for everyone to participate, to enjoy and learn to be part of something special!
