County Receives $80,000 Grant for park playground equipment

Lewis County Government was recently awarded an $80,000 "Healthy Built Environment" grant from the state in order to purchase and install new playground equipment at Memorial Park.

Lewis County was one of only thirteen entities across the state to be awarded an HBE grant this year. In an email to County Mayor Jonah Keltner, Shannon Velasquez of the Tennessee Department of Health wrote, "This was an extremely competitive application process, and your project stood out as having great potential to create a healthy place in Tennessee. Congratulations!"
