Panthers score win in season opener

The Lewis County High School Football Panthers hosted Community in the season opener at Bobby W. Sharp Stadium Friday, August 23, and had a banner night with a 64-6 victory.

The visitors were first to get on the scoreboard when quarterback Charles Haskins tossed a pass to Niles Barnett for a 13 yard touchdown at the 8:35 mark. The extra point attempt failed.

The Panthers would strike five and a half minutes later as Braylon Bean crossed the goal line from 8 yards out at 3:02 to even the score. Henry Sharp added the point after attempt and the home team...
